Olyveco is not a lead-generation platform. It is a knowledge-first community where homeowners and vetted experts can share guidance, tools, and real-world experience.
We protect three things above all:
- Safety Homeowners can ask questions without being targeted
- Clarity Answers should be practical, specific, and honest
- Respect People make big decisions about their homes. The tone must stay calm and constructive
Posting guidelines for homeowners: How to Post for the Best Help
You’ll get better answers when your question includes a few basics.
Suggested post format:
- Province and city
- Your timeline. 0–3 months, 3–12 months, or 12+ months
- Your home type and what you want next
- Your biggest obstacle right now
- What kind of help you want. Planning, costs, repairs, choosing a pro, or just clarity
Privacy note:
Do not post your address or sensitive personal details.
Rules for All Members
- Be respectful. No harassment, shaming, discrimination, or hostile language
- Share practical help. Keep responses relevant and specific
- Protect privacy. Do not share private personal information about yourself or others
- No misinformation intentionally. If you are unsure, say so
- Keep the space calm. No fear tactics or pressure language
- Follow moderation decisions and use the reporting tools when needed

Homeowners are here to explore without being chased. That is non-negotiable.
What is not allowed and can lead to removal:
- Cold messages to homeowners asking to work together
- Pressure language. “Call me today,” “you must act now,” “I can guarantee results”
- Lead-capture tactics disguised as help
- Inserting your phone/email to contact, inside of responses
- Requests for a homeowner’s phone number or email inside community threads
What is allowed:
- Helpful answers in public threads
- Booking links and contact options on professional profiles
- Homeowners choosing to request an intro or request to be contacted
Clear rule line:
If you want to speak directly with a homeowner, the homeowner must initiate it by requesting contact.

Rules for Professionals and Trades
Everyone who works inside the real estate industry are encouraged to be here. Visibility is earned through contribution and standards. Needs of homeowners, algorithms and expectations have changed so the approach to the building your business much change.
Professionals must:
- Offer guidance without turning every interaction into a pitch
- Be transparent about scope, timelines, and what you can and cannot do
- Avoid conflicts of interest and disclose them when relevant
- Respect the verification process and badge status
- Keep communication professional and calm
Verified Badge reminder:
Some profiles may show Pending Verification until checks are complete. Verified is earned and visible.
Reporting and moderation
Olyveco uses moderation to keep the space safe and helpful. If something feels pushy, misleading, or disrespectful, report it.
What we may do when guidelines are broken:
- Remove content
- Issue a warning
- Restrict posting or messaging
- Remove verified status or badges
- Remove a member or professional from the network
